When visitors come to Hartford, a short day trip is in demand to see the treasures of the Bluegrass Motorcycle Museum.  Owned and operated by Jack Embry and his wife Nancy, the displays boast over 20 vintage, American made motorcycles, and 30 years’ worth of motorcycle memorabilia.  Even before the museum was opened in the mid-90s, Mr. Embry’s passion for restoring antique motorcycles drew onlookers from near and far.

The Adsmore House & Gardens in Princeton, KY. Located just one block north of historic downtown Princeton, KY, the Adsmore House & Gardens spread across a vast, four acre estate.  Adsmore is considered to be the only living house museum in existence in Kentucky.  First built in 1854 by a merchant named John Higgins, it is believed the museum’s name was derived from the fact that numerous additions and remodeling projects have taken place on the property over the past one-hundred and fifty years.  The home was property of a prominent southern family for several years, the last member of which was Katherine Garrett, who lived there until her passing in 1984.

Visiting the American Saddlebred Museum in Lexington, KY. The American Saddlebred Museum is located in Lexington, Kentucky on the Kentucky Horse Park grounds.  A recent exhibition at the museum in 2008 was titled “For the Love of a Horse: Children and Saddlebreds”.  This exhibit was intended to demonstrate the unique and sometimes magical connection that exists between children and Saddlebreds.
