We went to visit my Father in Law in Hawesville, KY. About 20 miles outside of Owensboro, KY. We took our 1978 Supergilde to ride the Kentucky hills while we were there. We pulled in on a Saturday night, husband took it for a spin up the road and the clutch cable snapped. So, here we are from Michigan, in Kentucky with a snapped cable. We wait til Monday morning to call the closest HD dealership which is in Evansville IN about 50 miles from where we were. Of course they didn't have one, "because the bike is so old". So, I pull out the phonebook, call the first number listed for motorcycle parts which is "Hombre's Harley Salvage" and think great! They will for sure have one. Thinking a harley junkyard. He says that he is not open but because of the circumstances, if we can be there in an hour, he will have it for us. We get to this place within the hour. He has the part, he is fantastic and very friendly. He proceeds to tell us that out back is his museum. Even on his day off, he offered for us to go and look. We couldn't believe our eyes when he opened the door. Vintage bikes all around. Bikes I have never heard of or seen. And he still rides every single one of them!! Hombre was one of the nicest guys I have ever met and he did us a great favor on our vacation. Thanks Hombre and the Museum is FANTASTIC!!!! I still can't believe we "stumbled" across you!

We recommend that you bypass this park. For the price, it's just not worth it. Our family spent nearly $100, anticipating a great day of educational fun for the kids. The ONLY exhibit they enjoyed was feeding the birds. Our guide for the Outback Walkabout was horrible, and spent more time trying to come up with jokes about how Australia was the source of all science fiction movies than she did actually providing information about the animals. When asked basic questions, she couldn't answer....it was the worst 25 minutes we'd ever spent. Overall, we had far more fun at the less expensive attractions, and will NEVER return to KDU.
